Overview

Microsoft Viva Engage is a communication and engagement app within Microsoft 365 that functions much like popular social media platforms. It allows users to post updates, join or create communities (similar to Facebook groups), and participate in open or private discussions.  Engage makes it easy to stay informed, collaborate, and connect across campus. By mirroring familiar social media standards, it encourages inclusion, strengthens professional and academic relationships, and provides a dynamic alternative to long email threads.

• Communities: Create and join interest-based or departmental groups.
• Storylines: Share personal and academic or professional updates across Microsoft 365.
• Announcements: Broadcast important messages to entire communities.
• Virtual Events: Participate in live video events with interactive Q&A.
• Analytics: Gain insights into engagement and community health.
• Communication: Facilitate open dialogue between campus leaders and community members.
• AI-powered Q&A: Crowdsource solutions and connect with experts.

Access

You can access Viva Engage from a web browser, desktop application, or mobile device. Be sure to log in using your @usd405.com email address.

Web App (Desktop)

1. Visit myapps.microsoft.com.
2. Sign in using your @uark.edu credentials.
3. Select the Engage logo. Note: The myapps dashboard is customizable and may not be listed alphabetically. 
4. You will be redirected to Viva Engage browser app. 

Integrated in Microsoft Teams (Desktop app)

• Install the Viva Engage app for Teams
• Add a Viva Engage page to a Teams channel

Desktop App

These directions must be followed using Microsoft Edge browser: Install the Viva Engage app in Microsoft Edge

Mobile App

Download Engage from the following app stores and log in using your @usd405.com account:
