Lock Windows Desktop


It is important to keep your computer secure from use by any other individual without you knowing what is happening during its use. Part of the Acceptable User Policy is to ensure only you have access and use of your login. Locking your desktop is part of the process. Doing so ensures that only you have access to the computer that is logged in with your credentials. Below is a quick way to ensure you lock your desktop.

Staff members need to be ensuring your login session is locked when you are not at your computers to ensure access to other services like the Student Information System is limited only to you.



Pressing the Windows Key + L key will lock the dekstop. This will prevent others from using your logged in session.

Once locked you can gain access to your locked session by using the same username/password used to log into the computer
